Coding with AI
Workshop — 2024-12-06
Location: K.02.10 — 14:00 - 17:00
By now everybody has used ChatGPT for writing. But do you know large language models are also really good at coding? They not only help you write code, but can also explain line-by-line what's going on, and can help you debug if things go wrong.
In this workshop, we'll cover the basics of coding, then jump in and start building our own projects. We'll use ChatGPT and Claude Artifacts to quickly build and deploy apps. Then we'll set up Copilot in VS Code to have an AI in our editor as we code. Finally we'll dive into next-gen coding tools like v0 and bolt.new.
Goals
- Understand the strengths of LLMs and learn to code with them.
- Recognize when models are making things up (hallucinations) and how to work around it.
- Strategies for prompting for designing, writing, understanding and debugging programs.
Requirements
You don't need to be able to code! That's the point. Although if you have some experience with coding, this will help you take it to the next level.
Project
We'll create three projects from scratch: a website, a mobile app, and a generative art generator.
Reservation
To ensure enough room for every student, we ask that you reserve your spot
